Floral Motif’s Are Set To Rule The Fashion World This Summer

Flowers, a symbol of freshness and rejuvenation are synonymous with spring time. And this season, designers are experimenting with dresses, bomber jackets, jumpsuits, T-shirts and accessories covered in floral prints. Recently, Deepika Padukone was spotted wearing a khadi floral print sari. Designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, the floral motifs on the sari stood out and complemented Deepika’s look, and added to the vintage feel.

Floral prints have always been an integral part of the fashion world be it in films or on the runway. In recent times, designers such as Ritu Kumar, Tarun Tahiliani, Narendra Kumar, and many more have used various techniques to incorporate florals in their collection.

Speaking about his designs, Tahiliani says he brought in an artist to paint flower motifs and then converted them into digital prints. “I took inspiration from books on flora and fauna, the Mughal period etc, and asked artists to paint the motifs. We later got them digitally printed and then collaborated it with the garments,” he adds. Designer Rashi Kapoor is also of the opinion that florals never go out of style. “Florals form the most important part of our collection. We try and promote the happier and brighter side of life through florals,” she says.
