It’s been five years since 90’s actress Manisha Koirala was cured of cancer and now has a new lease on life. She will be making her much awaited comeback in Sanjay Dutt’s biopic. Manisha will be portraying Sanjay’s mother, the legendary actress Nargis in the movie. But that’s not all for manisha. She also has plans on adopting a baby girl this year, according to a leading daily.
She revealed,”This December, it’ll be five years since I got completely cured. If everything goes well, I’m planning to adopt a baby girl. I just hope everything goes right and it all falls into place. I want to be there for the child, and I’ll make sure that I plan my life around this.
I’m super excited about this new phase in my life, I can’t wait for it to begin.”
On what she will pass on to her daughter, she said,”I’ll also teach her to appreciate the abundant beauty that lies in everything God has created.” Manisha was earlier married to Samrat Dahal who is a Nepal businessman in 2010. Ultimately, the couple divorced in 2012.
The Sanjay Dutt biopic which is being helmed by Rajkumar Hirani will see Ranbir Kapoor stepping into the shoes of Sanjay. The actor has been copying his walking style and has even gained weight for the role along with a new hairstyle. Also starring the movie are Sonam Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Dia Mirza.
Her resilience against the disease was one of the main reasons for her casting as Nargis Dutt had also died due to cancer.
Hirani says, “We were thinking of many actresses. And while Manisha is really pretty and a fantastic actress, my primary reason for taking her is that she’s a cancer survivor and, having been through the journey herself, can identify with Nargisji’s fight with the Big C. When we met, she told me a little about that journey,“
